The BRITISH CLINIC offers the best of the British Medicine. The clinic was established in 1994 as a total private enterprise. The aim is to offer high medical standards and the most exclusive medical services for the society. This is provided in a professional, friendly , confidential and relaxed setting using the latest advanced technology in diagnosis and treatment.

The clinic was officially inaugurated on the 20th December 1994 by  H.E. Mr. Anthony Harris, the then British Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates. The establishment is the effort of Professor Darwish and his wife Dr. Samia Saafan. They are British with Sudanese and Egyptian origin where the primary medical qualifications were obtained. However, the post graduate education, training and qualifications were acquired in the United Kingdom. With this acumen and over 40 years of experience in different disciplines of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Infertility and Endoscopic Surgery equipped with methods of advanced technology provided the advantage of practising the highest standard of British medicine as well as understanding and appreciating the needs of people from different cultures.

With the clinical experience in the field of general obstetrics and gynaecology and the academic acumen from the experience of being an Assistant Professor Obstetrics & Gynaecology, her input would maintain the highest standard we are used to provide in The British Clinic.

We will continue to maintain the highest clinical services with the patient's interests first and foremost in mind and to adhere to the non-commercial commitment to patient care.

 Professor Magdy Elfaramawy has over 35 years of medical experience. Qualifying MBBCh from Al Azhar University Cairo, Egypt, Master degree in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt and followed by the degree of Doctorate in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from Al Azhar University Cairo, Egypt. Furthermore, Professor Magdy Elfaramawy has been awarded the Fellowship of Foetal Medicine from the University College Hospital London (UCL). 

Professor Magdy Elfaramawy has vast experience in clinical, academic as well as research in the subject of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in general. This added to his super speciality expertise in the field of Foeto-Maternal Medicine and Endocospic & Minimally invasive gynaecology surgery. 

Professor Magdy Elfaramawy's early training culminated in being a lecturer, assistant professor, the Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in the Military Medical Acanademy in Cairo, Egypt. This followed by clinical practice of being the Head of Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department and Medical Director of centres in the Middle East and Gulf. 

The list of society's fellowships, memberships, chairmanships and presidency is rather long! In brief, Professor Magdy is the Chairman of Foetal Medicine of the International Academy of Medical-Social Sciences (IAMSS). President of Organization Gestosis, and being awarded OGASH Professor for the EARNST THEODOR RIPPMANN MEDAL DE ONOARE. Director of Ian Donald School of Ultrasound in the Gulf Area. 

Professor Magdy Elfaramawy contribution to the well being and women's health is much appreciated by the multinational community of Abu Dhabi city as well as abroad. 

Dr Samia Saafan has over forty years experience in the specialized fields of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Infertility. She is a graduate of Alexandria University, Egypt and a post graduate of Liverpool and London, UK. She qualified in MRCOG and later FRCOG from The Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, London. Furthermore, Dr. Samia has been twice awarded the Edgar Research Fellowship by The Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, London. Dr. Samia is also a member of many medical societies including ESHRE, MEFS and ISGE.

Dr. Samia is a regular contributor to women's health activities, international and national meetings. She is a regular speaker in media programs concerning women's health as an expert in this field.

The British Clinic Team attended the updates of Advances in Histopatology & Cytology organized by Lifeline Hospital on the 19th of February 2014. 

The British Clinic Team attended the Scientific meeting organized by The Emirates Osteoporosis Society (EOS) on the 14th February 2014.

The British Clinic Team attended the IMS HRT Excellence Day  organized by Abbott on the 31st of January 2014.

The British Clinic Team attended the updates on the Treatment of Abnormal Uterine Bleeding Disorders organized by Abbott on the 1st February 2014. Guest Speaker Prof PHM Van de Weijer MD PhD from University of Aukland, New Zealand. A case presentation by The British Clinic Team of Leydig cell hormone secreting tumor. Dr. Heba M.K. Youssef, Consultant Pathologist gave the detailed expert and interesting insight of the histopathology.

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is now back to favour, the British Clinic Team attended the Emirates Osteoporosis Society Scientific Meeting on the 14th of February 2014, where emphasis are made that hormone replacements are not culprit anymore!

Minimally Invasive Surgery skills updated by The British Clinic Team participating in the Best practice points in Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Infertility and Endoscopy Conference & Workshops organized by Minimally Invasive Surgery Society of Egypt (MISS.E) held in Abu Dhabi, 6th & 7th of March 2014.
